About Us
This website was started by a young mathematician who has been investing both short and long-term securities
for many years now. During this time he noticed many inaccuracies, mistakes, and misunderstandings about
finance, mostly related to the mathematics of the subject. He realized that it is not easy for the layman
who seemingly has to pick up both a new skill set in mathematics and another one in finance in order to make
good investing decisions. To address this gap in education he started up this website with the intention of
providing high yield mutual fund information, then using the information as a context for explaining and
teaching basic notions of mathematicial finance so everyone can make better decisions.
For example many people do not understand the subject of compound yields very well. Or perhaps the understanding
is incomplete. This website can help the average investor get a grip on the ideas, as well as useful formulas
